Memoirs Musings is a debut poetry anthology by S. S. J. Fernando, written in his retirement years. The collection blends life experiences with vivid imaginative memoirs, marking a departure from the author's former academic writing style into the more meandering path of poetry. From people close to his heart to national heroes, feminism, and global issues, Fernando touches a wide array of topics – all flavoured with his favourite essence: human emotions. Most of these poems have previously appeared in local newspapers. While the author rejoices in his newfound passion, readers may well regret he did not discover it sooner. A heartfelt, accessible collection for lovers of reflective, emotional verse.
