“Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters” is an action-packed sequel that raises the stakes for Camp Half-Blood. The magical borders protecting the camp are dying, and monsters are starting to break through. The only cure is the Golden Fleece — which lies on an island in the Sea of Monsters (aka the Bermuda Triangle). Percy is joined by Annabeth and his new friend Tyson, a gentle cyclops who happens to be Percy's half-brother. The book introduces more Greek mythology (the Sirens, Charybdis, Circe) and deepens the friendship between the characters. Tyson's arc is particularly touching. Funny, fast-paced, and full of heart, this is a worthy sequel to The Lightning Thief. “This is the stuff of legends” – Guardian.
