Nora Roberts's ''Angels Fall'' is a masterful blend of romance and suspense. Reece Gilmore is the sole survivor of a brutal crime, and she has been running from her nightmares ever since. She lands in the small town of Angel's Fist, Wyoming, hoping for peace. Instead, she witnesses a murder in the mountains. When no one believes her, and strange things start happening, she must turn to local writer Brody for help.

Roberts excels at creating atmospheric settings and compelling characters. The Wyoming landscape is vividly rendered, and the small-town dynamics are believable. Reece is a sympathetic heroine—damaged but resilient. The romance between her and Brody develops naturally and provides a counterpoint to the mounting suspense. The mystery is well-constructed, with plenty of red herrings. ''Angels Fall'' is a satisfying read that will please both romance and suspense fans.
