This book by Australian crime reporter Tom Prior chronicles the spectacular rise and fall of Christopher Skase, a charismatic Australian businessman. In just a few short years, Skase rocketed from a novice reporter to controlling a TV network, to creating some of the world's best and plushest holiday resorts (including the famous Mirage resorts in Queensland), to bidding for MGM in Hollywood. Then came the crash. Skase fled to Majorca, Spain, while authorities pursued him. The book is based on extensive research and interviews, including conversations with Skase from a hospital bed, his wife Pixie, his parents, the big money men who funded his dreams, and the small investors who lost everything.
