''Silent But Deadly'' is another laugh-out-loud collection in the beloved Big Nate series. Lincoln Peirce has a genius for capturing the voice and worldview of a middle schooler, and this book is no exception. Nate Wright is back with his usual blend of confidence, cluelessness, and creativity, getting into trouble and out of it in the most hilarious ways.

The book is a collection of comic strips, so it's perfect for quick reading or for kids who are transitioning to chapter books. The humor is sharp and relatable, covering everything from school projects and detentions to friendships and rivalries. The recurring characters—his long-suffering friends Francis and Teddy, his nemesis Gina, his grumpy teacher Mrs. Godfrey, and his clueless dad—are all wonderfully drawn.

A highlight of this collection is the ''Great Nose-in'' segments, where Nate's alter ego uses his ''sense for scents'' to sniff out trouble. The jokes are fast-paced and will have kids (and adults) giggling. The full-color pull-out poster is a fun bonus.

This book is a must-have for any Big Nate fan and a great introduction for new readers. It's funny, engaging, and perfect for kids aged 8-12. Highly recommended.
