This time, Greg Heffley's town decides to go completely electronics-free, forcing everyone to live like it's the ''old days.'' For Greg, a kid who loves video games and modern conveniences, this is a nightmare come true.

Jeff Kinney cleverly uses this premise to explore themes of technology dependence, generational differences, and what ''the good old days'' really mean. Greg's attempts to navigate a world without screens are both funny and cringe-worthy. From trying to entertain himself without video games to dealing with his dad's nostalgic ideas about how kids should behave, Greg's struggles are relatable and hilarious.

The book is filled with Kinney's signature cartoon-style illustrations that perfectly capture Greg's exasperation and the absurdity of the situations he finds himself in.
