''Harvesting the Heart'' by Jodi Picoult is a beautifully written and emotionally powerful story about a young mother's struggle to come to terms with her own past. Running away is in Paige's blood. Abandoned by her mother when she was five years old, it seems that whenever things get tough, all she can think of is escape.

But this time, when she runs, she is leaving behind her husband and newborn child. Unless Paige can find the answers to the secrets of her past, more lives will be destroyed as history repeats itself.

Picoult is at her best when she is writing about motherhood, and this novel tackles the complex emotions of maternal love, fear, and abandonment with honest conviction and beautifully written prose. If you enjoy Jodi Picoult's novels, women's fiction, or emotionally powerful dramas, Harvesting the Heart is a must-read. Highly recommended!
