Book Review :
In Agatha Christie's Hickory Dickory Dock, the brilliant detective Hercule Poirot is drawn into a seemingly trivial case of petty theft that soon escalates to murder. The story begins when Poirot's usually impeccable secretary, the formidable Miss Lemon, makes three embarrassing errors in a simple typed letter. Poirot deduces that something must be seriously troubling her. He learns that her sister works as a warden at a student hostel in London, and a wave of kleptomania has been sweeping through the residence. Items of little value are going missing, from a stethoscope to a rucksack. To restore his secretary's focus, Poirot agrees to investigate. He soon discovers that the seemingly random thefts are connected to a darker, more sinister plot. The student hostel becomes a closed circle of suspects, filled with young people from diverse backgrounds, each with their own secrets. When a murder occurs, Poirot must use his ''little grey cells'' to untangle the web of jealousy, obsession, and hidden identities. It's a classic, cleverly plotted Christie mystery that provides plenty of entertainment and a satisfyingly ingenious solution.
