This disfigured genius has plans to lure an innocent young soprano to her destiny and ensure his music is played. However, he hasn't counted on the presence in the audience of Granny Weatherwax, Discworld's most formidable witch. Granny and her partner in crime-solving, the irrepressible Nanny Ogg, soon find themselves backstage, navigating the treacherous world of artistic egos, temperamental sopranos, and a plot that involves murder, music, and mayhem. Nanny Ogg even decides to write a musical herself. The novel is a hilarious romp through the world of opera, poking fun at its pretensions and passions while delivering a classic Pratchett blend of sharp social commentary, unforgettable characters, and laugh-out-loud humor. It's a wonderful read for both Discworld veterans and newcomers alike.
