''Rambo III'' by David Morrell is a novelization of the iconic 1980s action film starring Sylvester Stallone. Rambo refuses to go back to war—not for some grey-suited man from State, not for a desk soldier from the Pentagon, not for politicians who talk of honour and patriotism and then betray you.

But for the man who trained him, commanded him, and was like a father to him—Colonel Trautman—Rambo will go. When Trautman, out on patrol with Afghan freedom-fighters, falls into Russian hands, Rambo embarks on a one-man counter-invasion that will leave the craggy mountains and bare rock wilderness of Afghanistan spattered with Red blood.

This is classic Rambo—over-the-top action, explosive violence, and a lone hero taking on overwhelming odds. Morrell's writing is fast-paced and visceral, capturing the spirit of the film. If you enjoy 1980s action movies, war thrillers, or Rambo fans, this is a fun, nostalgic read. Not for the faint-hearted!
