''Shadow Command'' by Dale Brown is a gripping military thriller that sees General Patrick McLanahan's new ''Aerospace BattleForce'' growing into a fully-fledged task force based on the Armstrong Space Station. But the program has its critics, including Russia, the United Nations, and the American press.

Russian president Leonid Zevitin uses a combination of top-secret anti-spacecraft weaponry, fear-mongering, and new U.S. President Joseph Gardner's own egotism in a plan to eliminate all support for the space program. Gardner and his allies will stop at nothing—even destroying one of their own to get what they want.

McLanahan ignores directives from the White House and the Pentagon to stand down and orders the Aerospace BattleForce to attack secret Russian bases in Iran, causing the President to order his immediate arrest. But before the authorities can throw McLanahan in jail, they first have to find him.

Brown delivers another high-octane thriller filled with cutting-edge technology, intense action, and political intrigue. The space-based setting adds a fresh dimension to the series. If you enjoy Tom Clancy, Stephen Coonts, or military aviation thrillers, Shadow Command is a must-read. Highly recommended!
