Book Review:
''Skellig'' is a simply brilliant and award-winning novel from David Almond, winner of the Carnegie Medal and the Whitbread Children's Book of the Year.

Michael steps into the crumbling garage. What is this thing beneath the spiders' webs and dead flies? A human being, or a strange kind of beast never seen before? The only person Michael can confide in is Mina. Together, they carry the creature out into the light, and Michael's world changes forever.

This lyrical tale of the angel Skellig is written with delicacy and restraint, telling a story of love and faith with exquisite, heartfelt fluttering tenderness. It is an extraordinarily profound book, no matter how old the reader. Perfect for readers aged 10 and up, this is a must-read for anyone who enjoys magical realism, thought-provoking stories, and beautiful prose.
