A Daring and Beautiful Novel of a Woman's Awakening
Kate Chopin's ''The Awakening'' is a novel that was ahead of its time, and its power and beauty have only grown in the century since its publication. It is a daring, sensual, and deeply moving exploration of a woman's struggle for identity and freedom in a society that sought to confine her.
