Here, he turns his gaze to Hollywood, the dream factory itself, and creates a portrait of Monroe Stahr, a movie producer based on the legendary Irving Thalberg. Stahr is a compelling figure: brilliant, driven, visionary, yet ultimately as fragile as the celluloid he produces.
