Book Review:
Beginnings: Collected Essays of S. Bodhesako is a brilliant and thought-provoking collection from one of the most unique Buddhist voices of the 20th century. S. Bodhesako was an American Buddhist monk—a student of literature and creative writing at the University of Iowa who, like many of his generation, sought alternatives to the Western lifestyle. After ordaining as a Theravada monk in India in 1966, he spent most of his monastic life in Sri Lanka, where he used his literary and philosophical skills to craft innovative and witty essays.
