Doctor Who and the Krikkitmen is a treat for fans of both Doctor Who and the late, great Douglas Adams. This is a ''lost adventure''—a story that Adams originally conceived as a television serial in the late 1970s but never produced. Now, James Goss has novelized it, and the result is a delightful, funny, and thoroughly entertaining romp through time and space. The premise is pure Adams: the fate of Earth rests on the outcome of a cricket match. The Krikkitmen, alien warriors who destroyed their own world, have disguised themselves as a cricket team, and the Doctor, Romana, and K-9 must stop them. The book is filled with the witty dialogue, absurd situations, and sharp social commentary that made Adams a legend. It captures the spirit of the Tom Baker era of Doctor Who perfectly, and fans will love hearing the Fourth Doctor's voice in these pages. It's not quite Hitchhiker's Guide, but it's close—a warm, funny, and clever addition to the Adams canon. Highly recommended for Whovians and Adams fans alike.
