The story follows Tintin, Captain Haddock, and their friends as they set sail aboard the Sirius to search for the hidden treasure of the legendary pirate Red Rackham. Armed with three parchments found inside the Unicorn model ship, they explore the Caribbean, dive for sunken wrecks, and face fierce rivals.

This book is most famous for introducing one of the series' most beloved characters – **Professor Cuthbert Calculus**. The absent-minded, half-deaf inventor arrives with his homemade submarine and quickly becomes an essential part of the team. His misunderstandings and inventions provide constant comic relief.
