Book Review:
''Flight 714 to Sydney'' is the twenty-second adventure in the Tintin series, first published in 1966. This book is one of the most unusual and controversial entries in the series.

The story begins when Tintin, Haddock, and Calculus board a private jet to Sydney. The owner is Laslo Carreidas, a millionaire known as ''the world's most detestable passenger.'' Also on board is the famous pilot Szut (first seen in ''The Red Sea Sharks''). But the flight is hijacked by Rastapopoulos, who wants Carreidas's fortune. They crash-land on a volcanic island in the South Pacific.

Then things get really strange. The castaways encounter a mysterious figure named Mik Kanrokitoff, who claims to be from another planet. He uses mind control to help them escape. Many fans find the science fiction ending bizarre, but others appreciate Hergé's willingness to experiment. The artwork is superb – the jungle, the volcano, and the underground caverns are beautifully drawn. A weird but wonderful adventure.
